MELAKA, Sept 11 -- Handcrafted batik produced by prospects (inmates), among several local artisanal products showcased as a medium of cultural diplomacy at the 19th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime (AMMTC) and its related meetings, here.

Crafted entirely by prospects under Malaysian Prisons Department rehabilitation programmes, the batik demonstrates how creative skills developed in correctional facilities could be transformed into meaningful contributions to society and the economy.
